AT SCHOOL WITH THE BELLE TASSE (the nice taxes)
«Taxes are generally seen as an ‘evil’, because they constitute a sacrifice. To say that taxes are nice comes as something of a surprise. But how can we say that they are ‘nice’? Because they keep life in society going, they are the basis of civil society insofar as we are all called to contribute to the public expenditure, thus supporting through taxes the acheivement of the collective goals that affect us all. And this is possible only through taxes. So, yes, they are a sacrifice, but to achieve a collective interest.»

“Le belle tasse” refers to an original initiative to explain taxes to children and involves primary schools in Rome and Turin.
Out of this grew a school project with the aim of promoting a “culture of taxation”.
